Every spring
you see those commercials where people are surprised by a team of
folks bearing a million-dollar prize. The winners’ behavior is the
most entertaining thing about these ads- people jump, twirl, faint…
it’s enough to make you want to practice your own reaction to
incredible news just in case someone shows up on your doorstep with
an oversized check.
Speaking of
leaping limbs, you can see body language in action in traditional
ballet. When the story line is happy and light hearted, the dancers
prance all over the stage; when the action takes a turn toward
tragedy, you’ll see more grounded, down-to-earth moves. You don’t
need to know the story behind the dance; you’ll know instinctually
what’s happening just by watching the movements of the men and
women on stage.
